Katarzyna Karasiewicz holds a Ph.D. in law from the Faculty of Law at the Warsaw University and a postgraduate diploma in Economics in Competition Law from King’s College London. Katarzyna is also a lecturer at postgraduate studies on Faculty of Law at the Warsaw University and at an MBA on Łazarski School. She is a co-author of commentary to the completion law act as well as an author of numerous publication regarding Polish and European commercial law.
Katarzyna specialises in competition law, consumer law (especially e-commerce), public procurement and state aid. She advises entrepreneurs in FMCG, AGD, transport, petrol, telecommunication, automotive, construction, energy and bank sector.
She gained experience in leading Polish law firms (Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak; Modzelewska and Paśnik) as well as in the Ministry of Justice.
Katarzyna represented clients before Polish and European competition authorities in cases concerning competition and consumer law, as well as before National Appeals Chamber and civil courts in cases regarding public procurement. Her practice includes participation in cartel cases (e.g. cement cartel case), vertical arrangements cases (e.g. vertical price fixing in petrol sector and luxury goods market; selective distribution agreements), abuse of dominance cases (e.g. pricing policy of dominant entities) and merger control cases (e.g. acquisitions in the automotive sector or shopping center market).
