CEO of Vital Voices Chapter Poland – since February 2015
Senior manager with over 15 years of extensive experience in a global organization, managing various business operation areas across Poland and the CEE region and partnering with business stakeholders on all people related initiatives.
Since 1997 Ela was involved in developing what was initially a Polish representative office and later became a Polish law incorporated subsidiary of Fiserv, one of the largest providers of information technology services to the financial sector. Her responsibilities included the smooth conversion to a fully Polish subsidiary in the year 2000.
Since establishing the Polish subsidiary, up until October 2014, she was responsible for the Polish Operations in the areas of HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Business Continuity and Compliance. She was also involved in business development of the organization within the CEE region.
Ela began her career at the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office, where from 1993 up until 1996 she was responsible for the coordination of work and projects of inter-departmental teams developing projects sponsored by the Council of Ministers. In addition her tasks also included maintaining contacts with local and regional authorities in Poland.
Informally cooperating with Vital Voices since 2011, she was able to observe how much the mentoring process helps younger women realize their potential and grow both personally and professionally. In September 2014 she was appointed Development and Engagement Director of Vital Voices Poland, responsible for developing new business partnerships and promoting Vital Voices activities in Poland.
Graduate of the Mediterranean Archaeology Department of the Warsaw University (MA), she also holds an MBA degree in the field of General Management from Warsaw University in cooperation with University of Antwerp, Vrije Universitet in Brussels and Bergische Universität in Wuppertal, as well as a post diploma degree in Personnel Management for Executives from the Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw.

Graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management and Hamilton College, with several years’ experience in Investment Banking. She began her career in Credit Suisse First Boston’s London office in 1998. Upon graduating with a degree in Financial Engineering and MBA from MIT Sloan in 2002 she worked for several years on Wall Street, in Dresdner Kleinwort and Morgan Stanley, focusing primarily on derivative markets transactions, interest rate swaps and options. From 2007 based in London at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan where she focused on structured financing transactions for Emerging Markets’ Corporates. Presently a dealer at the corporate bond desk at Pekao SA in Warsaw.
Her interest in supporting the entrepreneurial development of Polish women rises from recent experience running her own firm, facing several challenges simultaneously, beginning with marketing and advertising, through legal issues, accounting matters, strategic and budgetary planning topics.
Privately passionate about sailing. Bareboat Skipper, in 1992 she sailed across the Atlantic on board the S/Y Fryderyk Chopin as part of Krzysztof Baranowski’s International Class Afloat. In 2008 she returned on board as 1st Officer.

Currently at RBS’ Global Hub Europe as Head of Change Management she is responsible for implementing change management strategies and processes.

Previously at PayU, she was responsible for delivering marketing and sales strategies for online payments in the CEE region. At Sygma Bank she implemented project management methodologies and managed the entire project portfolio. At Roland Berger she realised projects in areas of strategy, restructuring and process re-engineering for large Polish banks. Magdastarted her professional career in consulting companies in Germany.
