Head of Mutual Fund and Pension businesses
Rafał is responsible for investment activities across Eastern and Southern Europe; he also oversees Mutual and Pension Fund businesses in Poland, Greece and Romania
Investment portfolios include fixed income as well as equities with combined assets under management about 5bn USD.
His career with MetLife started in 1999, when he joined the newly formed AIG Pension business, which was established as a result of the pension system reform in Poland. He started working at the Investments Department and was responsible for debt portfolio management. In 2004 he was promoted to Head of the Investments Department position, responsible for the overall investment activity. In 2010 he was appointed as General Manager of Pension business, the 4th largest pension fund in Poland, providing services for 1,5m customers.
Prior to joining MetLife’s pension company in Poland, he managed the insurance portfolios of AGF Insurance (life and non-life).
Rafał has been associated with the capital markets since 1991, when he started his career with Pekao Bank (Brokerage arm of Unicredit in Poland). He then participated in the creation of the Brokerage House of the American Bank in Poland. When the company was successfully launched, he assumed the position of investment specialist.
Rafał holds a Master’s Degree in Organization and Management from the Warsaw University. He is a licensed stockbroker and has completed numerous courses for investment analysts and investment advisors.
