In march of 2017 the second part of the Open Mentoring Program – “Disruption and Transformation – Women in Tech” – took place. Program participants, Mentors, Mentees and Vital Voices partners took part in an unprecedented Tech Tour of Israel organized by Vital Voices Poland and the Israeli Embassy in Poland.
The tour’s program was extremely ambitious and all-encompassing. With 7 cities visited in just 6 days, the participants had an absolutely rare opportunity to look into the Israeli culture of business, start-ups, science, education and policy creation. This unique fabric of entrepreneurship and innovation enriched and inspired the program participants for many days to come.
A total of 35 meetings were held, amongst them a meeting with professor Ada Yonath, a Noble Prize winner in chemistry, several sessions with government organization representatives and scientists from the Weizman Institute, to name a few. Participants visited several companies and factories, for example the Ahava Soda-Stream and Intel. During the tour of the Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva and the Shenkar Art Design and Engineering College the participants had to opportunity to observe cooperation between educational institutions and businesses. Pitch sessions and meetings with start-up founders were held, including Mobileye, EZbob, Personetics, PayKey, Etoro, Tipranks, SafeDK and several incubators and centers supporting business like Start Up Nation Central, Creators and WMN.
We would once again like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and assistance in the organization of this extraordinary event, with a special heartfelt thank you going to the Israeli Embassy in Poland for creating such an exceptional agenda for the tour.
